The Morons and a Baseball Team
There must be something passing through the water in Philadelphia because this baseball season already has produced 3 of the most moronic fan events, all taking place at Philadelphia Phillies games. I don’t know what is happening there, it’s not like I am bias against the Phillies because I am a Yankees fan, but something is going on because these are some of the dumbest fans I have ever seen. Here is the breakdown of all 3 events in chronological order:
The Vomiter
On April 15, the Phillies were playing the Nationals on the field, but that’s not where the attention seemed to be. In the stands, a man was thrown out after he intentionally vomited on an 11 year old girl. Need I say more? I will. This man, sitting behind an off duty cop and his 2 daughters, actually
shoved his fingers down his throat in order to puke all over the young child. This could not be more disgusting and it takes a sick man to even let this thought pass through his head, let alone actually pursue it. Luckily he was tossed from the stadium and he should never be allowed to go to another baseball game again.

The Taser Victim
Less than a month after the vomiting man, a 17 year old boy decided to take a run around the Phillies’ field. While running in the outfield and being chased by security, the boy was shot with a taser sent from one of the trailing security guards. This led to much debate as to whether or not the taser was unnecessary. The fact is, it definitely was not over doing it. If you are dumb enough to run on a baseball field, then you deserve to be shot with a taser, in fact, you are pretty much asking for it. The security guards don’t know who you are or how dangerous you can be. For all they know, you could seriously injure one of the players. This kid deserved what he got and the security guard should be commended for what he did.
The Copycat
The very next game after the taser incident, another stupid fan decided to imitate the previous fan and take a stroll on the field. This fan was lucky in that the security guards were a little more cautious in terms of controversy and decided to refrain from using the taser. Instead, he was tackled. When will people learn? I want to know what this guy was thinking right before he jumped onto the field. Was it: “I hope they taser me like the other guy”? There were, however, two positive things that came out from the incident with this second fan field jumper. 1) As he was running on the field, the rest of the crowd booed him in addition to chanting “Tase him!” This shows that most fans are not as stupid as the people who interrupt games to satisfy their narcissism. I don’t think fans were chanting in order to see him tased for their own amusement, but to see him suffer for stopping the game. 2) While the Phillies were winning before the man jumped on he field and play was stopped, right after he was escorted off Cole Hamels blew his 1-0 lead and eventually the Phillies lost in extra innings. I can’t help but connect the 2 events, after all, the last thing a momentous pitcher wants is a stoppage in play and a distraction. Although I hate to say that the Phillies deserved to lose that game, one way for idiots to refrain from stopping games is the possible consequence of distracting your team enough that they end up losing.
